 A Child-Centred

Curriculum

Research-based

The Spiral Curriculum

Children learn most effectively when they’re challenged to think and problem-solve, while regularly revisiting skills and concepts. That’s why phonics and sight words are reviewed repeatedly through different books and activities. Through prompts encouraging children to notice details in the text and self-correct their reading, they gain a deeper understanding of literacy while developing critical thinking skills.

Authentic

Phonics and Sight Words in Context

Being able to read a flash card doesn't always guarantee confidence in reading. Words come in different fonts and sizes: that's why real books are read in class. As children get used to recognising words in different formats, they stop getting stuck on the print — and start understanding the story. This fluency sets your children up to engage with texts more deeply as they grow.

Personal

Reading Your Child’s Way

Reading is most joyful when it connects with a child’s world. That’s why every book is chosen around your child’s favourite topics — from cars and sharks to police officers and space. Drawing on research like the VAK model and Multiple Intelligences theory, each book is paired with activities that match how your child learns best. When children dive into topics they love, in ways that fit them, they stay engaged and build a lasting bond with books.

Letter Learners

Phonics Pros

The right foundation for budding readers.

In this class, children gain a firm grasp of phonics that enables them to read and form 3-4 letter words. Authentic reading experiences provide a platform for applying phonics skills and becoming familiar with simple sight words, all of which equip them to start penning down their own words.

Bookworms

Confident, ready readers.

In this class, children break down long words using chunking, building on their phonics foundation for more independent reading. They explore books cover to cover and express their own thoughts and ideas through writing — perfect preparation for primary school. With fun, meaningful literacy tasks, they gain the skills to read and write with ease.
